The journey begins with an early morning pick-up from Srinagar at 6:00 AM, followed by a scenic drive to Ganeshbal Pahalgam, situated approximately 90 kilometers from the city. Upon arrival, the trek leader will provide a briefing about the trek, ensuring you are fully prepared for the adventure ahead. Before setting off, a packed lunch will be provided to keep your energy up throughout the day.

Kickstart your journey with an invigorating 4.4-kilometer trek through the captivating Deno Valley, a path framed by the towering presence of Spruce, Pine, and Fir trees. As you step into this lush forest, you are immediately immersed in the tranquility of Kashmir’s natural beauty, where the scent of pine mingles with the crisp mountain air. This initial stretch of the trek, ascending from 2,100 meters to 2,515 meters, sets the stage for the grand adventure ahead on the Tulian Lake trek. The day begins much like the previous one, with the first light of dawn heralding the start of another exhilarating adventure. At 6 a.m., the call to wake up echoes through the crisp morning air, signaling the beginning of a new day. By 7 a.m., a hearty breakfast awaits, providing the fuel needed for the day’s trek. By 8 a.m., we bid farewell to the campsite and embark on our journey from the serene Tulian Valley to the captivating Tulian Lake. Tulian Lake, nestled at an altitude of 3,700 meters, is a mesmerizing body of water cradled in the embrace of the majestic Tulian Mountain, also known as Katsal Peak. The lake's striking blue hue is accentuated by its unique figure-eight shape, creating a scene of unparalleled beauty. Surrounded by towering peaks and glaciers, the lake presents a stunning contrast of colors and textures, making it an enchanting sight for any traveler fortunate enough to witness it. The day begins similarly to the previous one, with a wake-up call at 6 am, followed by breakfast at 7 am, and departure from the campsite by 8 am. As always, starting early will allow us to avoid the heat of the midday sun. We descend back from Tulian Valley towards Pahalgam taking the same route from which we had ascended. The descent will take approximately 7 hours. After reaching Ganeshbal , Pahlagam, which marks the culmination of our Tulian Lake Trek, we will travel back to Srinagar.

  • Backpack 40–50 Lt with rain cover – Goes on the horse/porter
  • Day Pack 15–20 lt with rain cover- to carry your camera, water bottle, trail layers, trail food etc.
  • Trekking Shoes: Please do not wear sports shoes as on most treks, as we go higher it gets harder to use sports shoes
  • 2 -3 pairs of trekking socks.
  • 2 pairs of woolen socks – ideal to sleep in and best to use when in camp. We do not recommend them while trekking
  • Pants: 3 pairs (including the ones you wear) – Ideal are the quick dry trekking pants.
  • Alternatively, track pants are also comfortable to trek in.
  • T-shirts 3 pairs (including the ones you are wearing) – Preferably quick dry, full sleeve t-shirts You can also choose to get T-shirts with collars, they offer extra protection for the neck from sunburns.
