Meet and greet your Trip members in Delhi at 6 pm near Majnu ka Tila. This boarding point is very close to Vidhan Sabha Metro station in Delhi which falls on Yellow Line. If you arrive early at this bus stop you can easily explore the Tibetan Market with Trikon lead who will take you across the Tibetan Market to see the little monastery and Tibetan market where you can hog onto Momos and shop articles like the mini Mcleodganj and Dharamshala. We then board the comfortable Volvo Semi Sleeper AC bus from Delhi and start overnight journey for Dalhousie. En route the bus stops for loo and dinner break. It’s quite a comfortable journey in the bus with decent leg space and good comforts like a blanket, phone charging facility and water bottles.
Reach Dalhousie and check inside your hotel rooms. Grab some tea and breakfast and enjoy the view. Freshen up to start your local sightseeing at Dalhousie. Explore the below destinations.
St. John’s Church: Boasting of Roman architecture, this church is indeed very beautiful and belongs to the Protestants of Dalhousie.
St. Francis Church: Built as per the church of England’s architecture, it features glass embellishment and stone work which makes it a must see.
Subhash Baoli: Subhash Chandra Bose had the water from this Baoli to get well post his failing health while fighting for the country’s freedom. This too is a popular sightseeing place in Dalhousie.
Panjpulla: This place is the Samadhi of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s uncle and it also has a confluence of 5 bridges making it apt for clicking pictures and freezing the memory.
We wake up in the morning and finish our morning routine to explore the above mentioned destinations. Have breakfast and start your excursion to explore some of the most beautiful and nature inspired destinations around Dalhousie. Khajjiar is the mini Switzerland of India, Daikund is the local valley of mystical tales and beauty and Kalatop is a sanctuary which can be explored well on foot. All these places around around 30-40 kms from Dalhousie hence can be covered in a day.
About Khajjiar: The Mini Switzerland as it says, this destination is a paradise for many bollywood film shooters. You can get into many adventure activities while you are at the place. You can explore the little Khajjiar lake and walk through the trail. Try land zorbing while you visit Khajjiar with friends and family.
Wake up early in the morning and freshen up to leave for Amritsar, which is a good 4-5 hours drive from the hotel. Reach Amritsar and visit the famous Harmandir Sahib the enchanting Golden Temple, you can also have the langar there. Explore Jallianwala Baugh and shop at the local market. All these places are nearby and can be covered by walking. Taste the local delicacy and leave for Wagah border show. Witness the crowd enthusiasm of both the countries India and Pakistan with full josh! The show ends by sunset, ending your day trip to Amritsar. You now will drive back to Dalhousie hotel. Dinner can be had in Amritsar itself.
Today we have get ready and have breakfast! You can now spend gala time in shopping and eating local delicacies. If any place remains uncovered due to time constraints then same shall be covered today! Check out from the hotel in the afternoon and explore the markets and cafes in Dalhousie. Board the evening bus to Delhi and come back with memories only.
Reach DELHI by 8 am. You can now move towards your respective station or airport.
