Damage Policy1. General Care & Responsibility
Guests are responsible for leaving the room and communal areas in the same condition as they were upon arrival. We understand that minor wear and tear (like a chipped teacup or a scuffed floor) happens. However, significant damage to the property or its contents is the responsibility of the guest.
2. Reporting Damages
Immediate Notification: Please report any accidental breakage or damage to the host as soon as it occurs. We appreciate honesty, and early reporting often allows us to fix the issue before the next guest arrives.
Pre-existing Issues: If you notice anything broken or malfunctioning upon check-in, please alert us within 2 hours of arrival so you are not held responsible.
3. Damage Charges
In the event of significant damage, the guest will be charged the actual cost of repair or replacement. This includes:
Stained Linens/Upholstery: Damage beyond normal laundering (e.g., permanent ink, wine, or burns).
Furniture & Decor: Broken bed frames, tables, or traditional Sikkimese handicrafts.
Structural Damage: Holes in walls, broken windows, or damage to plumbing and electrical fixtures.
4. Lost Keys
To maintain the security of the homestay, lost room keys will incure a replacement fee of ₹300 to cover the cost of cutting new keys or replacing locks if necessary.
5. Payment Method
Any agreed-upon damage charges must be settled prior to check-out. We accept [Cash / UPI / Bank Transfer]. If the damage is discovered after departure, we reserve the right to send an invoice for the repair costs.
Cancellation PolicyOur refund policy is as follows:
Cancellation Notice: If a booking is cancelled after making bookings, a 30% refund of the total booking amount will be issued.
Non-Refundable Portion: The remaining 70% is retained to cover the loss of occupancy and administrative costs.
No-Shows: Failure to arrive without prior notice will result in no refund.
